Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitriy Kosarev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Egov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dmitriy Kosarev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sasha Egov!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kosarev clinches up with Egov and pushes him back against the cage.
Egov prevents the takedown attempt.
Egov fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Egov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kosarev has him pressed against the cage.

Egov pulls guard.
Kosarev controlling from the top position.
Kosarev wants to get up but he can't break Egov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Egov pushes Kosarev off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
A punch combination from Egov misses.
Egov wants to clinch

and Kosarev counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Kosarev looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Egov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kosarev is working away from the top position though.

Kosarev is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Egov wants to control but Kosarev is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Egov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kosarev kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sasha Egov.

Kosarev closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Egov's guard.
Egov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kosarev's guard.
Egov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kosarev wants to stand up but Egov is controlling him.
Kosarev wants to sweep here but Egov controlling him for the moment.

Egov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Egov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kosarev knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Egov on the ground.

Kosarev has a closed guard, preventing Egov from standing up.

Kosarev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kosarev looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Egov puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Kosarev is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Egov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

A head kick by Egov misses

and Kosarev counters by clinching up.
Kosarev tries for a takedown but Egov manages to get underhooks.
Kosarev has Egov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Egov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kosarev wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmitriy Kosarev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Egov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kosarev fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kosarev is nestled in close to Egov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kosarev stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Egov moves to clinch but Kosarev breaks away

and Kosarev counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kosarev.
Kosarev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kosarev decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Egov, up you get!

Egov gets caught napping as Kosarev dives in and scores a takedown. Egov manages to retain guard.
Egov is trying to keep Kosarev in close.
Egov thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Kosarev is working Egov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Egov won't allow Kosarev to get back to his feet.

Egov gets tackled into the cage by Kosarev. Kosarev maintains the clinch.
Egov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kosarev gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Egov.

Kosarev lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kosarev looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Egov pushes Kosarev off looking to stand but Kosarev dives back in and keeps control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kosarev is looking to advance position but Egov won't allow it.
Kosarev not doing much here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Egov is trying to maintain the position but Kosarev is very close to passing his half guard.
Kosarev drops an elbow to the side of Egov's head.
Egov punching from the bottom.
Kosarev slows the pace down in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Kosarev throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Egov was covering up waiting for the punch and Kosarev finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kosarev wants to control from the top but Egov keeps moving.

Kosarev stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Kosarev circles away from the clinch attempt

so Kosarev counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kosarev wants to stand but Egov has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kosarev is working Egov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Egov controls Kosarev momentarily but Kosarev frees himself.
Egov keeping moving, preventing Kosarev from controlling successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dmitriy Kosarev.
Egov closes the distance looking to clinch

and Kosarev counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Egov's guard now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dmitriy Kosarev showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kosarev has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
