The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makkonen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Odeivole darts in trying to clinch
and Makkonen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Makkonen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Makkonen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Odeivole at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
An inside leg kick lands from Makkonen.
Odeivole is breathing heavily.
Odeivole shoots and misses
and Makkonen counters with a stiff right hand.
Makkonen and Odeivole are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Makkonen throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Odeivole into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Makkonen knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
