PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chase Gooden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mexican Hat Dance kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franklin gets caught napping as Gooden dives in and scores a takedown. Franklin manages to retain guard.
Gooden missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Gooden throwing strikes but missing.
Gooden postures up in Franklin's guard and throws a big left but Franklin blocks it.

Gooden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Franklin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gooden has Franklin in his guard.
Franklin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Franklin cracks Gooden with a solid left hand.

Gooden looking for a guillotine here but Franklin defends easily.

Franklin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gooden swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gooden is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Franklin is aware though and is defending well.

Gooden has an active guard here but Franklin has managed to pass into half guard.
