The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain misses with a body shot
and BlackGuy counters with a flying knee. Nice.

and BlackGuy counters with a takedown into side control.
BlackGuy laying and praying for a moment but Cain takes advantage and regains half guard.
Cain is trying to stand back up but BlackGuy is controlling him

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eddie Cain was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and BlackGuy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Cain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
BlackGuy landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Cain tries to roll over but BlackGuy keeps him under control.

BlackGuy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cain's head.
Cain wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
BlackGuy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eddie Cain hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

BlackGuy is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
BlackGuy won't allow Cain to sweep him here.
Cain is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

BlackGuy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cain pinned against the cage. Cain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

BlackGuy with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
BlackGuy goes for a takedown attempt but Cain pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
BlackGuy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
BlackGuy wants to control the pace but Cain is squirming around nicely.

Cain is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cain tries to lock up and control but BlackGuy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Angry BlackGuy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cain wants to sweep but no luck.
Cain is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Cain has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We're going to have a standup here because Angry BlackGuy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
BlackGuy wants to clinch.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
BlackGuy throws a strike but Cain rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
BlackGuy keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully.

Cain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. BlackGuy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cain breaks from BlackGuy's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Cain has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of BlackGuy's face.

BlackGuy defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cain.

BlackGuy is bucking up trying to escape but Cain cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Eddie Cain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
