Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Mehoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damon Moya!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moya fails with the takedown
and Mehoff connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mehoff moves into the clinch.
Mehoff escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Moya fails with the takedown
and Mehoff counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Moya gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mehoff counters with a left and a right that stings Moya.
Jacques Mehoff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damon Moya.
Moya misses with a takedown attempt
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Moya looks gassed!
Moya doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Moya misses with a takedown
enabling Mehoff to counter with a crisp jab.
Mehoff lands with a kick to the ribs.
Mehoff throws a leg kick which misses Moya's front leg but catches the back leg as Moya tries to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mehoff lands a big uppercut and Moya crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Moya looks OK. Mehoff waves Moya back to his feet!
Moya is rocked!
Mehoff lands with a kick to the ribs.
Moya is still on wobbly legs! Can Mehoff finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mehoff catches Moya with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Moya forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
