Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dark Matter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randsome Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dark Matter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randsome Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matter clinches.

Matter manages to break the clinch.
Matter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Matter throws a leg kick but Gracie checks it.
Matter throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Matter circles away easily
and Matter counters with a three punch combo that has Gracie backing up. Gracie nods at Matter to acknowledge the strikes.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gracie walks into a straight right hand from Matter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matter throws a low kick but Gracie avoids it.
Matter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gracie eats them both and turns towards Matter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Gracie has his takedown stuffed
and Matter counters with a one-two to the body.
Dark Matter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randsome Gracie.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Matter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Matter looks to clinch

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Matter won't be happy with that.
Matter wants to get back to his feet but Gracie drags him back down.
Matter is breathing heavily.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Matter is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gracie asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Matter throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Matter rushes Gracie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Matter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gracie has him pressed against the cage.

Gracie is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Matter is looking to break free of the clinch but Gracie has double underhooks.

Matter slowing the pace effectively.

Matter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gracie fails with the takedown
and Matter counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Matter wants to clinch but Gracie slips to the side

and Gracie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Matter's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Matter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Matter wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Matter keeps moving.

Matter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gracie passes Matter's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Gracie has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Matter defend it? Gracie steps over the head and cranks it - Matter is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gracie!
