The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Pounder misses
and Rodriguez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jim Pounder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pounder throws a solid leg kick but Rodriguez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pounder.
Pounder misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pounder pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rodriguez is out of range and Pounder settles back down.
Pounder pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab from Rodriguez does it's job there.
Pounder misses with a kick to the body
and Rodriguez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Pounder is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pounder displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rodriguez.
Pounder is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Rodriguez just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! And now a right hook, right on the button! Pounder has gone limp, and this one is over!
