PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Apollo Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Klein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klein has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klein misses with a lunging right hand

so Faber counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Faber slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Klein looks gassed!
Faber passes Klein's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Faber works his way into side control.

Faber has hold of Klein's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Klein tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Faber cranks the arm and Klein screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Klein, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
