Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jens Pulver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ramon Silva!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pulver crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Silva - the referee stops the clock and Pulver gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Silva. Pulver manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A low kick from Pulver is predictable there
and Silva counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Pulver gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Silva counters with an inside leg kick.
Silva scores with a head kick.
Pulver darts in trying to clinch
and Silva counters with a head kick.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt
and Silva counters with a body kick.
Pulver throws a head kick that half lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pulver throws a left and a right that both miss
and Silva counters with a leg kick.
Pulver wants to clinch but Silva slips to the side
and Silva finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Pulver gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silva counters with a nice kick to the body.
Pulver is breathing heavily.
Pulver misses with a takedown

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Pulver fights it but they end up in guard.
Silva advances position into side control!
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pulver keeps working.
Pulver is trying to escape the position but Silva is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Silva might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Pulver is not content to let Silva control the position.
Silva slows the pace down.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ramon Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.
A solid body kick from Silva.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Pulver's head.
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pulver's calf.
Pulver will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Silva connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Pulver to the floor! Silva dives in looking for the finish!

Pulver is rocked!
Silva is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Oh Pulver is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva takes Pulver's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Pulver is in trouble.

Silva is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Pulver has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Silva has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Pulver taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Silva doesn't care though - he's delighted!
