PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robot Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Dingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dingo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Carl Orff - O Fortuna kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Robot Joe has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Robot Joe seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robot Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Dingo!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dingo blocks a low kick nicely.
Joe is looking to score with low kicks.
Joe tries to clinch but Dingo moves away
and Dingo counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Joe shoots and misses
and Dingo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dingo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Joe momentarily.
Dingo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Joe moves to clinch but Dingo breaks away
and Dingo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Joe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dingo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dingo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Joe tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Dingo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Joe tries to clinch but Dingo moves away
and Dingo counters with a nice uppercut.
A low kick from Joe is predictable there
and Dingo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Joe thinking.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters circle momentarily. Dingo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dingo lands a right hook to the body.
Joe tries to move into range but Dingo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Dingo forces Joe back against the cage and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Joe wants the takedown. Dingo is fighting it off but Joe persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dingo's guard against the cage.
Joe is breathing heavily.
Dingo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dingo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Joe.
Joe being controlled here momentarily.
Dingo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Joe is one step ahead there.
Joe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Joe throws a big right hand that misses.
Dingo looking for a sweep. Not yet Dingo, not yet.
Joe passes Dingo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Joe prevents Dingo from improving his position.
Dingo works his way to full guard. Good work.

Joe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dingo is adopting a defensive guard.
Joe looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dingo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Joe.
Dingo controls Joe momentarily but Joe frees himself.
Joe throwing strikes but missing.
Dingo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Joe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dingo is pulling down on Joe's head to control his posture.
Joe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dingo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Matt Dingo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Joe throws a leg kick that is checked
and Dingo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dingo scores with a jab to the body.
Joe with a poor takedown
and Dingo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robot Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Joe tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Dingo to counter with a crisp jab.
Robot Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joe moves to clinch but Dingo breaks away

and Dingo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Joe is trying to drag Dingo to the mat but Dingo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Joe misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Dingo.
A right hand to the body from Dingo.
Joe scores with a hook to the body.
Joe wants a takedown but no success here.

Dingo manages to break the clinch.
Dingo lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Joe wants to clinch
and Dingo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Dingo connects with a nice looking jab.
Dingo scores with a jab to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dingo throws a shot to the body.
Joe closes the distance but Dingo moves to the side
and Dingo counters with a stiff right hand.
Dingo lands a nice hook to Joe's body. Joe takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dingo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Joe looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Joe darts in trying to clinch
and Dingo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dingo is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Joe had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Joe throws a leg kick
and Dingo counters with a straight right hand.
Dingo lands a nice looking body shot.
Joe tries for a takedown but Dingo circles away easily
and Dingo counters with a head kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Joe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Dingo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Joe gets caught flat footed, as Dingo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dingo trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Dingo dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A low kick from Joe misses

and Dingo counters by clinching up.
Joe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dingo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Joe has Dingo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dingo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Joe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dingo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Joe doesn't seem bothered though.
Joe swings away with a body shot that misses
and Dingo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dingo throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Dingo jabs Joe to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Joe takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dingo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Joe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Dingo has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Dingo throws a shot to the body.
Nice jab there from Dingo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Joe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Dingo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dingo lands with a kick to the temple. Joe shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


Joe is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Good standup being displayed there by Dingo as he connects with a hook.
Oh Joe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dingo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dingo's jab looks to have found its range, popping Joe under the eye.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dingo throws a series of strikes that have Joe backpedaling.
Joe throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Dingo scores with a counter punch that sends Joe to the canvas! Dingo smells blood - he's punishing Joe with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Joe has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Dingo!
