PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chase Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Snowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera (Walk). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chase Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Snowe!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Storm takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Storm misses with a leg kick
and Snowe makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Snowe clinches.
Storm scores with a hook to the body.
Snowe tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Storm avoids it.
Storm gets through Snowe's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Snowe lands with a short shot to the head.

Storm drags the fight down to the ground.
Storm is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Storm not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Storm working over Snowe with some ground and pound. Snowe looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Storm is keen to just control but Snowe is a slippery customer.
Snowe is looking to control Storm's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Snowe avoid being mounted?
Snowe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Storm is stalling here. Snowe is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Storm seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Snowe has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Storm is not content to let Snowe control the position.

Storm is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Storm throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Snowe trying to control the position but Storm is working away.
Storm gets back to half guard.
Storm is looking for a sweep. Snowe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Storm regains full guard. Nicely done.
Storm throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Snowe wants to control from the top but Storm keeps moving.
Storm bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Snowe's guard.
Storm is working Snowe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Storm trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Storm is pushing down on Snowe's leg trying to pass to half guard. Snowe is fighting to maintain full guard but Storm has managed to sneak the leg through.
Storm throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Snowe pushes Storm off looking to stand but Storm dives back in and keeps control.

Storm thows a huge punch but Snowe dodges it nicely.
Snowe won't allow Storm to pass to mount.
Snowe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Storm is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Storm in particular looking to stall.
Snowe controlling the position well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Storm not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Storm dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Snowe takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Storm just misses with a punch to the body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Snowe.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Snowe blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Snowe blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Storm decides to pull guard.
Storm looking to control.
Snowe slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Snowe trying to control the position from guard on top but Storm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Storm is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Storm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Storm takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Storm drops an elbow to the side of Snowe's head.
Storm is trying to control. Snowe wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Snowe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Storm is working away from the top position though.

Storm stands up and beckons Snowe to join him on the feet.

Snowe tries to land a front kick but Storm steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Storm cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Storm connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Storm stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Snowe.
Storm throws a series of punches but Snowe moves out of range.
Storm misses with a body punch
and Snowe counters with a slapping leg kick.
Snowe delivers a nice body kick.
Storm looks to land a combination. Snowe sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Snowe drives through and clinches with Storm against the cage.
Snowe lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Chase Storm has been cut.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Snowe just misses with a elbow thrown towards Storm's brow.
Storm is leaning against Snowe and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Storm lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Snowe.
Snowe lands an elbow just above Storm 's eye.
Snowe throws an elbow that misses.
Snowe pushes off an throws an elbow but Storm leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Storm jumps guard and drags Snowe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Snowe wants to stand but Storm is controlling his posture from full guard.
Storm looking to hit a scissor sweep but Snowe is one step ahead there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Storm is on top in guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Storm throws and elbow that misses. Snowe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Storm's guard. Nice move by Snowe!
Snowe wants to stand and escape but instead Storm has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Snowe can do anything to dispel that myth.

Snowe preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Snowe creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Storm goes for a takedown attempt but Snowe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Snowe scores with a nice body kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Storm misses with a hook
and Snowe counters with a head kick. That will keep Storm thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Snowe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Storm uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Snowe.

Snowe closes the distance and clinches.
Storm tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Snowe smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chase Storm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Storm slips under a jab.
Snowe connects with a crisp jab.

Storm gets tackled into the cage by Snowe. Snowe maintains the clinch.
Storm takes an elbow to the forehead.
Snowe throws an elbow that misses.
Snowe lands an elbow inside.


Chase Storm's cut is getting worse.
Storm lands a shoulder strike.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Snowe.
Storm blocks an elbow strike.
Snowe pushes off an throws an elbow but Storm leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Snowe looks to throw an elbow but misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Snowe just misses with a elbow thrown towards Storm's brow.
Snowe comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


Chase Storm's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Storm blocks an elbow strike from Snowe.
Storm jumps guard but Snowe stands there with Storm around his waist. Storm gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Snowe lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Jeez, Chase Storm's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Snowe pushes off an throws an elbow but Storm leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Storm pulls guard successfully.

Storm keeping moving, preventing Snowe from controlling successfully.
Storm wants to sweep but no luck.
Snowe advances to half guard.
Snowe trying to control from Storm's half guard. Storm has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Storm throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Storm throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Storm striking off his back but it's not causing Snowe any problems.
Snowe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Storm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Snowe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Storm is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Storm moves into full mount! Snowe won't be happy about that!
Storm is landing with some decent strikes but Snowe is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Mike Snowe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Chase Storm is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Snowe throwing hammer fists to the chest of Storm. What's that going to do exactly?
Storm controlling his opponent.
Storm has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Chase Storm overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Storm blocks Snowe's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mike Snowe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Storm has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
