Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brundon Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall comes to the cage accompanied by shawty like a melody. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brundon Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews tries to clinch up but Marshall circles away and keeps his distance.
Marshall fails to land the takedown.

and Marshall counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Matthews's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matthews wants to get back to his feet but Marshall is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Marshall drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marshall jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Marshall really is a fat lump.
Matthews tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Marshall postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Matthews is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Marshall, into his guard.

Marshall has his foot on Matthews's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matthews works his way back into a safe position though.

Matthews is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Let's hope that Matthews has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Brundon Matthews hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Matthews lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Matthews looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Matthews tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marshall paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Marshall drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Matthews dives on top into guard.

Marshall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Matthews wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Matthews wants to break free but Marshall has control.

Matthews lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Matthews has Marshall pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Matthews pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Marshall tumbling to the mat - Matthews dives into Marshall's guard.
Matthews is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Brundon Matthews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matthews lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Matthews really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Marshall.

Matthews is riding his opponent, not letting Marshall buck him off.

Matthews will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Marshall up against the cage.
Marshall has Matthews pressed against the cage, preventing Matthews from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Matthews has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
