Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yohan Carano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandor Cleagen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cleagen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Carano looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Carano escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cleagen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cleagen stands up over Carano, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Cleagen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cleagen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carano's head.
Cleagen passes into half guard.
Carano wants to control but Cleagen is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cleagen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carano!

Cleagen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Carano is looking to control Cleagen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carano avoid being mounted?

Cleagen uses his free foot to push down on Carano's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Carano.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carano is in all sorts of trouble here.

Carano wants to control but Cleagen is keeping busy.
Cleagen is looking to advance position but Carano won't allow it.

Cleagen is nestled in close to Carano, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck for Cleagen with that takedown attempt.

Cleagen wants to clinch up but Carano keeps it at a distance.

Cleagen shoots in and bounces Carano off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Carano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cleagen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cleagen stands up over Carano, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Carano is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cleagen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Cleagen gets to his feet and stands over Carano, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Carano felt that one! Cleagen unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Carano from any more punishment!
