PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between George Foot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jebidiah Tayber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Foot!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jebidiah Tayber!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foot misses with a takedown attempt

and Tayber moves into the clinch.
Foot is pushing Tayber up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Foot changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tayber fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Foot walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Foot tries to keep at a distance but Tayber has taken the fight into the clinch.
Foot tries to pull guard but Tayber holds him up against the cage and eventually Foot drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Foot. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Foot can't get the takedown.
Foot tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Tayber taking a breather.
Foot tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tayber smiles and moves away.
Tayber throws a nice inside leg kick.
Foot is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tayber sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Foot shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jebidiah Tayber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Foot is breathing heavily.
Foot closes the distance looking to clinch
and Tayber counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like George Foot has been cut.
A left lands for Tayber.
Foot shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tayber counters with a right hand to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tayber instigates a clinch.
Tayber scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Tayber works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Tayber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foot swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tayber controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tayber lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Foot at a distance.
Tayber works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Foot avoids the body shot from Tayber.
Tayber throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Foot counters by moving into the clinch.
Foot is working for takedown but Tayber is calmly controlling the position for now.
Foot looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Tayber has hold of one of Foot's legs. Foot is fighting the takedown attempt but Tayber gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tayber with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Tayber stands up over Foot, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Tayber is stalling in the full guard.
Foot keeping moving, preventing Tayber from controlling successfully.
Tayber scoring with some ground and pound.
Tayber trying to control the position from guard on top but Foot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tayber looking to sit in guard and control but Foot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tayber has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tayber trying to keep a closed guard but Foot is proving a slippery customer.

Foot drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tayber manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Foot has Tayber in his guard.
Foot not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tayber throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Foot works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Foot had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tayber defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jebidiah Tayber dominated that round.
The cut man is working on George Foot's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A head kick misses from Tayber.
Sloppy strikes from Tayber. Those never looked like landing.

Tayber shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Foot is staying active underneath Tayber, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tayber performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foot blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tayber.

Tayber seems to be working for a kimura but Foot defends the submission attempt.
Foot is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tayber scores with a couple of nice shots.

Tayber seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Foot is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jebidiah Tayber! Jebidiah Tayber retains his lightweight title!
