PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Kirov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Diablo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diablo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kirov tries to improve position but can't.
Kirov could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Diablo is riding his opponent, not letting Kirov buck him off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diablo is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kirov is defending well though. Diablo let's go of the attempt for now.

Diablo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kirov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kirov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diablo manages to get himself to full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pablo Diablo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kirov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diablo's waist but Diablo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kirov off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Kirov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kirov gets tackled into the cage by Diablo. Diablo maintains the clinch.

Diablo has hold of one of Kirov's legs. Kirov is fighting the takedown attempt but Diablo gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Pablo Diablo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Diablo forces Kirov back against the cage and clinches.

Diablo drags the fight down to the ground.
Kirov won't allow Diablo to sweep him here.
Kirov wants to control from the top but Diablo keeps moving.
Diablo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kirov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Diablo has Kirov pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Diablo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kirov tumbling to the mat - Diablo dives into Kirov's guard.

Kirov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Well Diablo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
