Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Honey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakob Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Honey's entrance music is Cruising in Miami by Bass 305. A fine choice. Tyler has chosen Throw the Heat - Mortician as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Hugh Honey has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honey falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tyler makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tyler swings for the body but Honey moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Honey darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Tyler scores with a sloppy right hand. Honey should have avoided that one.
Tyler misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Honey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Honey tries to bum rush Tyler with a series of wild strikes but Tyler uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Honey counters with a good, hard body kick but Tyler shrugs it off.

and Honey counters with a three punch combo that has Tyler backing up. Tyler nods at Honey to acknowledge the strikes.

Honey shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tyler eats them both and turns towards Honey to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Honey shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Tyler is trying desperately to land a takedown but Honey is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Tyler.

Honey shoots in looking for a takedown. Tyler tries to sprawl out of it but Honey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tyler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Honey wants to clinch up but Tyler keeps it at a distance.
Honey looks to score with a jab to the body but Tyler is just out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tyler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Honey tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tyler is in Honey's guard.
Honey seems keen to control Tyler's posture.
Tyler throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Tyler postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Tyler wants to control from the top but Honey keeps moving.
Tyler in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tyleris looking to pass into half guard but Honey pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Honey is in guard.
Tyler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Honey is one step ahead there.

Tyler keeping moving, preventing Honey from controlling successfully.
Honey pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tyler is keeping the position for now.
Honey connects with a couple of short punches.
Honey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tyler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tyler wants to get back to his feet but Honey is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Honey won't allow Tyler to sweep him here.
Tyler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tyler is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tyler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Honey is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Honey trying to keep a closed guard but Tyler is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tyler wants to pass the guard but Honey is keeping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Honey avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
