The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Rowly darts in trying to clinch
and Oliver counters with a stiff right hand.
Oliver lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

and Rowly counters with a takedown into side control.
Oliver is looking for a sweep.

Rowly goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Oliver rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rowly's guard! Nice work there by Oliver!

The fighters are battling for position here. Rowly manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rowly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Oliver is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Oliver rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rowly moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Oliver throws a combination that misses
and Rowly makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Oliver throws a right hand that Rowly ducks under and follows up with a left that Rowly also avoids with ease.

Rowly looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Oliver looks to land a combination but Rowly avoids it well.

Rowly is looking for a kimura but Oliver is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rowly to get the leverage.
Oliver is trying to maintain the position but Rowly is very close to passing his half guard.
Oliver slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Oliver has his hands on Rowly's head, controlling the position.
Oliver wants to sweep but no luck.

Rowly drops back, looking for a kneebar! Oliver looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Oliver looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Oliver!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rowly is not content to let Oliver control the position.
Oliver tries to advance to mount but can't.
Rowly is trying to improve his position.
Oliver remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Oliver's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oliver throws a series of punches but Rowly avoids them all with ease.

and Rowly counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oliver won't be happy with that.

Rowly thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Oliver slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rowly tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rowly has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Oliver is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rowly.

Oliver tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Neil Rowly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rowly is looking to reverse the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rowly tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Oliver wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rowly is not content to let Oliver control the position.
Rowly prevents Oliver from moving into mount.
Oliver gets to mount! Rowly was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

James Oliver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
