The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cubane throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cruz counters with a straight right hand.
Cubane swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Cruz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cubane misses with an uppercut
and Cruz counters with a straight right hand.
Cubane throws a right hand that misses
and Cruz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cruz moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Cubane misses with a combination
enabling Cruz to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cruz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Cubane controlling the position well.
Cubane has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cruz is working away from the top position though.
Cubane flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Cruz wants to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cubane tries to get to full guard but Cruz has control of the leg.
Cubane makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cubane.
Cubane seems keen to control Cruz's posture.

Cubane has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cruz doesn't defend quickly enough and Cubane has managed to lock this one up! Can Cruz escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cubane on a fantastic submission victory.
