Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pray Gaynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pray Gaynard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Big Boy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaynard scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Boy tries for a takedown but Gaynard circles away easily

and Gaynard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Boy's guard now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gaynard controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Boy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gaynard defends well.

Boy working for a triangle but Gaynard defends it easily.
Boy wants to improve his position but instead Gaynard has moved into half guard.

Boy is staying active underneath Gaynard, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gaynard shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Gaynard working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gaynard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Boy for as long as he can get away with.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Gaynard looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gaynard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Boy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gaynard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gaynard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gaynard perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boy regains full guard. Nicely done.
Boy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gaynard is working Boy over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Gaynard is nestled in close to Boy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Gaynard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Boy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
