The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Palmer throws a low kick, looking for Wood's leg but Wood calmly moves out of range.
Palmer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
An inside leg kick from Wood misses.
Palmer misses with a leg kick
and Wood counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Wood checks a low kick from Palmer.
Wood throws the left hand but Palmer avoids the punch easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wood checks a leg kick.
Palmer looks to clinch
and Wood counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Palmer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Palmer throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Palmer misses with a body shot.
Palmer closes the distance but Wood moves to the side
and Wood counters with a head kick. That will keep Palmer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Wood ducks under a wild hook from Palmer.
Wood moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Palmer misses with a kick to the body.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wood.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Palmer checks the leg kick.
Palmer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wood misses with a straight right.
Wood throws a leg kick which misses Palmer's front leg but catches the back leg as Palmer tries to avoid it.

Wood cracks the inside of Palmer's front leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wood ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Palmer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Wood throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wood changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Palmer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Palmer blocks a head kick by Wood.
A head kick from Wood lands but Palmer takes it in his stride.

It looks like Gordon Palmer has been cut.
A chopping leg kick lands by Wood.

Wood drops Palmer with a beautiful combination! Palmer stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Wood is looking for the KO!

Palmer is rocked!
Wood drops Palmer with a straight right hand, right on the button! Wood follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
