The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meredith gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
T looking to stall.
T doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Meredith lands an elbow inside that T shrugs off.
Meredith stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
T is trying to force a seperation but Meredith has the dominant position.
Meredith lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of T backwards.
Meredith blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Meredith blocks a punch to the side of the head.
T throws a punch but it's blocked by Meredith.

Meredith successfully pulls guard.
T won't allow Meredith to sweep him here.
Meredith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. T manages to get himself to full guard.

Meredith got a little sloppy there for a moment and T has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Meredith has managed to get both his arms back between T's legs - danger averted.

T can't keep his opponent in guard - Meredith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Meredith slows the pace down in half guard.
T tries to get to full guard but Meredith has control of the leg.
Meredith has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Meredith is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But T has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from T!

Meredith wants to sweep but no luck.

T is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Meredith is on top in guard.
T keeping moving, preventing Meredith from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meredith advances position into side control!
T really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meredith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Meredith thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
T gets back to half guard.

Meredith has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can T defend it? Meredith steps over the head and cranks it - T is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Meredith!
