These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanofskij throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rico tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sanofskij is in Rico's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Rico is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rico has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
