The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sokoudjou swings for the body but Morris moves out of range.

Morris connects with a leg kick. Sokoudjou looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sokoudjou connects with a nice short shot to Morris's temple.

Sokoudjou throws and elbow that misses. Morris uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sokoudjou's guard. Nice move by Morris!

Sokoudjou wants to pass the guard but Morris is keeping the position.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Morris here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Morris is working to get back to half guard.
Sokoudjou lands a big elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Desmond Morris has been cut.
Morris sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Morris wants to get back to full guard.
Sokoudjou scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Sokoudjou not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Sokoudjou throwing shots but Morris is blocking nicely.
Morris looks like he's trying to stand up.

Sokoudjou is taking a breather. Morris says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sokoudjou stalling away here and it's allowed Morris to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Sokoudjou sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Morris's guard.

Sokoudjou is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Morris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sokoudjou pulls his head out easily.
