Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Smalls!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smalls misses with a takedown attempt
and Riley counters with an inside leg kick.
Smalls misses with a straight left.
Smalls will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Riley moves in looking to clinch but Smalls pushes him off.
Reggie Smalls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Riley clinches.
Smalls has Riley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Riley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Jackson Riley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Smalls.
Riley is working for takedown but Smalls is calmly controlling the position for now.

Riley breaks the clinch.

Riley rushes Smalls and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Riley tries to pull guard but Smalls holds him up against the cage and eventually Riley drops back down to his feet.

Riley turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Riley is looking to take a break and control but Smalls is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smalls can't do much from the bottom here.

Riley tries to advance to mount but Smalls denies him.
Smalls regains half guard.
Smalls regains full guard. Nicely done.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jackson Riley wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Riley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smalls.
Smalls shoots and misses

and Riley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Riley wants a takedown.
Smalls gets underhooks to prevent Riley's takedown attempt.
Riley wants a takedown but no success here.
Riley is breathing heavily.
Riley misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Smalls.
Riley tries to pull guard but Smalls holds him up against the cage and eventually Riley drops back down to his feet.

Smalls has clasped his hands together around Riley's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Riley seems a little lost for a moment, as Smalls dominates the positioning.

Smalls has hold of Riley's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Riley tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Smalls cranks the arm and Riley screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Riley, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
