PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximums Musu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rayle Amot Abdalla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rayle Amot Abdalla told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Musu works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

It looks like Rayle Amot Abdalla has been cut.
Musu looks to land a combination but Abdalla avoids it well.
Rayle Amot Abdalla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Abdalla clinches.
Abdalla tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Musu smiles and moves away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Musu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Abdalla is countered with a crisp right hand from Musu that sends him to the canvas! Musu follows him to the mat into side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Maximums Musu.
Abdalla looks to clinch
and Musu counters with a right hand to the body.

and Musu counters with a big uppercut that knocks Abdalla off his feet! Musu dives into side control looking to finish!

That has opened up Rayle Amot Abdalla's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Musu grinds an elbow into Abdalla's temple.
Abdalla is trying to escape the position but Musu is controlling the position.
Musu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Musu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

and Musu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Abdalla won't be happy with that.
Musu is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Abdalla will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Musu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Maximums Musu wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Musu counters with a two punch combo.
Musu is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

letting Musu counter with a right hand.

The cut above Rayle Amot Abdalla's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Abdalla takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Musu lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Abdalla up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Musu from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Abdalla's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
