Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Louis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karch Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ray Louis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Louis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Karch Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Louis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Griffin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffin is on top in guard.

Let's hope that Griffin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Karch Griffin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Karch Griffin.
Griffin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Louis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Karch Griffin was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Griffin darts in and clinches Louis up against the cage.

Louis throws a series of punches but Griffin moves out of range.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Griffin stands and throws Louis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Louis is trying to control Griffin's posture but Griffin avoids it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Griffin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Louis tries to sprawl but Griffin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Louis tries to roll over but Griffin keeps him under control.
Well, if Griffin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Louis tries to get to full guard but Griffin has control of the leg.

Griffin postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Louis to stand up.

Griffin tries to keep at a distance but Louis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Griffin is fighting off a takedown attempt but Louis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Griffin to the mat. Griffin regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Griffin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Karch Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Louis fails with the takedown

and Griffin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Griffin.

Louis feints and as Griffin raises his hands in defense, Louis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Griffin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Louis is aware though and is defending well.
Griffin wants to sweep but no luck.

Griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but Ray Louis did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Louis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Louis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Griffin on his heels. He'll look to pass Griffin's guard now, I'm sure.

Ray Louis showed his dominance in that final round.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
