Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Redd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Callahan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Everybody Wants To Rule The World. Redd has chosen We Will Rock You as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Redd!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Callahan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Redd has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Callahan has managed to get both his arms back between Redd's legs - danger averted.
Callahan is pushing down on Redd's leg trying to pass to half guard. Redd is fighting to maintain full guard but Callahan has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Callahan is keen to just control but Redd is a slippery customer.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Callahan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Redd is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

A punch lands to the side of Redd 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Redd has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Callahan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Redd.
