Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gattsu Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calico James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Eagle Lands. James has chosen Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf as his entrance music. Gattsu Emelianenko has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gattsu Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calico James!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Emelianenko swings and misses with a shot to the body
and James counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Emelianenko thinking.
Emelianenko rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and James counters with a series of strikes. Emelianenko will be more careful next time no doubt.
James throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Emelianenko scores with a one two! James had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
James misses with a double jab.

and Emelianenko counters with a head kick.
Emelianenko throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
James just misses with a punch to the body.

and James counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by James.
Emelianenko wants to stand but James is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Emelianenko is pulling down on James's head. It's preventing any offense from James, at least for the moment.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Emelianenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving.
James won't allow Emelianenko to sweep him here.

James drops back looking for a leg! Emelianenko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Emelianenko manages to kick James off! James jumps back into Emelianenko's guard.

James connects with a couple of short punches.
James wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
James is in close to Emelianenko's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Emelianenko keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Emelianenko is retaining full guard.
Emelianenko is trying to keep James in close.
James won't allow Emelianenko to get back to his feet.
James trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Emelianenko wants to stand up but James is controlling him.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
James wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position.
James passes Emelianenko's left leg - he's now in half guard.
James has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

James is pressing down on Emelianenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Emelianenko is holding on for now.
James is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Emelianenko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Emelianenko managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by James.
James throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Emelianenko stops James from passing to mount.
James misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
James tries to score with some ground and pound. Emelianenko controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
James works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
You can see the frustration on Emelianenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

James throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

James decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Emelianenko misses with a kick to the body.
Emelianenko throws a head kick that misses.
James drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Emelianenko misses with a low kick.
Emelianenko throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calico James dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Emelianenko throws a series of punches but James avoids them all with ease.
James throws a sloppy body shot
and Emelianenko counters with a one-two to the body.
Emelianenko throws a body punch but James moves out of range.
James blocks a head kick by Emelianenko.

and James counters with a two punch combo.

and James counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Emelianenko!
Emelianenko really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
James postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Emelianenko looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
James with the ground and pound from mount.
James landing strikes from the mount and Emelianenko is in trouble!
Poor strikes thrown by James there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
James lands with some strikes.


Emelianenko is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Emelianenko is trying to stand.
James lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Oh Emelianenko is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
James loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Emelianenko scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from James land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. James stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Calico James!
