Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Panther!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Welch!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panther fails to land the takedown.
Panther gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Welch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Horrible takedown by Welch or perhaps it was just good defense by Panther which made him look bad.
Panther misses with a takedown attempt
and Welch counters with a low kick, right behind Panther 's knee.

and Panther counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Panther has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Welch off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Welch counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

so Welch counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Welch stands up and waves to Panther to follow him.
Welch lands with a thumping leg kick.

Welch fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Panther to the ground. Welch is now in Panther's guard.

Welch decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Panther, up you get!

Panther lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Welch circles away quickly and effectively.

Welch decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Panther wants to stand and escape but Welch is having none of it.

Panther is working an open guard so Welch takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Welch stuns Panther with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Welch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Welch throws a sloppy head kick and Panther moves out of range easily.
Welch swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Welch takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Welch fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Welch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Welch wants to stand and escape but instead Panther has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Panther throws a strike but Welch rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Welch gets to his feet. Panther looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jeremy Welch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jeremy Welch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jeremy Welch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Welch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
