Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Morse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Morse.

Morse gets a clinch.

Morse breaks the clinch.
Rodriguez needs to keep his hands up - Morse had a free shot at his head there.
Morse digs a good hook to Rodriguez's body.
Morse stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morse wants it to stay on the feet.
Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A cross from Morse lands.

Rodriguez closes the distance and pushes Morse back into the cage.
Rodriguez throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Morse blocks it with crossed arms.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Rodriguez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rodriguez fails to pull guard.
David Morse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Rodriguez.

Morse breaks the clinch.
Rodriguez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Morse scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Morse dips to his left and cracks Rodriguez with an uppercut!
David Morse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Morse has taken the fight to the clinch.

Morse breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rodriguez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Morse circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Morse has Rodriguez up against the cage in a clinch.
Morse tries to break the clinch but Rodriguez is controlling the position.
A frustrated look appears on Morse's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Morse manages to break the clinch.
Morse lands with an overhand left.

Morse scores with a jab.

It looks like Johnny Rodriguez has been cut.
Rodriguez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Morse counters by moving into the clinch.
Rodriguez looks gassed!
Rodriguez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Morse just stands there and leans against the cage.

Morse breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morse with a jab.
Morse connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Morse clinches up against the cage.
Morse is pressed up against the cage. Rodriguez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Morse down to the mat. Morse avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Morse throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rodriguez's head.
Morse lands a really nice looking cross but Rodriguez seems unphased.
Rodriguez fails with a takedown attempt.
Morse fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Morse throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rodriguez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Morse moves into the clinch successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morse lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Rodriguez backwards.

Morse breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morse scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rodriguez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Rodriguez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Morse moves into range and connects with a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Morse drops Rodriguez with a left right combo! Morse follows him down to the ground into side control.

Rodriguez is rocked!

Morse decides to stand back up.
Rodriguez is still on wobbly legs! Can Morse finish him?
Morse connects with a right that clearly hurt Rodriguez. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Morse proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Rodriguez collapses and taps out under the pressure!
