Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aj Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aj Styles is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Cox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aj Styles!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Styles drives through and clinches with Cox against the cage.
Cox leaning his opponent against the cage.
Styles misses with a punch to the body.
Styles is trying to push Cox away but Cox has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Cox escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cox lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Styles misses with a takedown attempt
and Cox counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Styles swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Cox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Styles looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Styles should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Cox throws a strike aimed at the side of Styles's head but Styles avoids it well.
Styles takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cox wants to control but Styles is keeping him busy.
Styles tries to bench press Cox off him but Cox keeps the position.
Styles looks gassed!

Cox tries to score with some ground and pound. Styles controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Cox decides to stand back up. Cox steps back and let's Styles get back to his feet.

Styles gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cox to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Styles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Styles is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Styles bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cox's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Styles got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cox has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Styles has managed to get both his arms back between Cox's legs - danger averted.
Cox not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cox pushes Styles off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Cox darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cox content to control rather than advance.

Cox is working for a submission of some sort.
Cox is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Styles wants to improve his position but Cox is controlling well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cox is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Cox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Styles with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Cox escapes and gets back to his feet.

Cox closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Styles's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Styles is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cox is controlling him.
Styles has a closed guard, preventing Cox from standing up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Styles is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Styles keeping moving, preventing Cox from controlling successfully.
Cox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Styles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cox loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Styles is breathing heavily.

Cox stands up and waves to Styles to follow him.

Cox gets the takedown into side control.
Cox tries to move to mount but Styles blocks the move with his legs.

Styles is looking to reverse the position.

Cox stands up and beckons Styles to his feet.
Cox scores with a kick to the body.
Cox tries a head kick but it misses.

A right hook to the body lands for Cox.
Styles is pressed up against the cage. Cox has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Styles down to the mat. Styles avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Styles showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cox.

Cox darts in and clinches Styles up against the cage.
Styles looking for a takedown.

Cox gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Cox looking to pass the guard.
Cox has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Styles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cox manages to get himself to full guard.
Styles tries to free his leg and advance position but Cox is retaining full guard.
Cox tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Styles can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Styles on the ground.

Cox is pulling down on Styles's head. It's preventing any offense from Styles, at least for the moment.

Cox makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Styles scores with a body shot.

Cox feints and as Styles raises his hands in defense, Cox changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cox won't allow Styles to sweep him here.
Cox tries to stand but Styles is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Cox throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Styles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cox, pushing him back against the cage.
Styles looking for a takedown.
Nice body punch from Cox.
Cox trying to land knees to the body.

Cox ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cox no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Styles wants to get up but he can't break Cox's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cox has his foot on Styles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Styles works his way back into a safe position though.

Styles controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cox has his hands on Styles's head, controlling the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Adam Cox wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Cox wants to clinch but Styles slips to the side
and Styles counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Cox moves into the clinch.
Cox lands a body shot.

Cox has picked Styles up - he's going for a ride! Cox dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Cox landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Styles is looking to control Cox's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Styles avoid being mounted?
Cox wants to take a breather but Styles is having none of it.
Cox stops Styles from getting back to his feet.
Styles wants to improve his position but Cox is controlling well.

Styles is not content to let Cox control the position.
Styles is trying to maintain the position but Cox is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Styles wants to control but Cox is keeping busy.

Cox shoots in and bounces Styles off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cox is looking to stand up but Styles won't let him.

Styles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well Cox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
