Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Lahey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Suoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Lahey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ronaldo Suoza!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suoza shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lahey wants to get back to full guard.
Lahey trying to hold on to Suoza's head to control him but Suoza postures up.
Suoza passes to full mount!
Lahey is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lahey bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Suoza pulls Lahey in close to prevent any damage.

Suoza is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lahey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ronaldo Suoza wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Lahey counters with an inside leg kick.

and Lahey counters with a three punch combo that has Suoza backing up. Suoza nods at Lahey to acknowledge the strikes.

Suoza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lahey avoids it really well and circles away.
Lahey throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Suoza's head.
Suoza misses with a right hand
and Lahey counters with a nice low kick that buckles Suoza's knee momentarily.

Suoza drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Lahey sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Suoza is thwarting Lahey's attempts to control the position.
Lahey tries to roll over but Suoza keeps him under control.
Suoza looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lahey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Suoza not doing much here.
Suoza is looking to take a break and control but Lahey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Lahey's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Lahey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
No joy there for Lahey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Suoza dives in and scores a takedown into Lahey's guard.
Lahey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

and Lahey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lahey misses with a series of wild punches.
Suoza fails with an attempt to clinch.

Suoza shoots in and bounces Lahey off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Suoza is breathing heavily.

Lahey is working an open guard so Suoza takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Suoza closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Suoza lands in his opponent's guard.

Suoza drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lahey dives on top into guard.

Ronaldo Suoza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Lahey holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Suoza tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Lahey wants to control but Suoza is having none of it.

Suoza is controlling the position but Lahey somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lahey pushes Suoza off looking to stand but Suoza dives back in and keeps control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Suoza in particular looking to stall.
Lahey wants to improve his position but Suoza is controlling well.

Suoza lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Suoza is figuring out what he wants to do next.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Suoza is keen to just control but Lahey is a slippery customer.
Lahey blocking the ground and pound attempt from Suoza.
Lahey is staying active underneath Suoza, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
