The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burkholder with a lazy takedown attempt
and Gama counters with a crisp one two that drops Burkholder! Gama thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Burkholder to his feet! Burkholder is in big trouble!
Burkholder throws a poor cross that misses
and Gama counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Burkholder shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gama sprawls well. Gama wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burkholder gets slowly back to his feet.
Gama lands with a good body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gama lands a left and a right that send Burkholder crashing to the mat, dazed. Gama thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Neil Burkholder has been cut.
Burkholder shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gama counters with a nice right hand that sends Burkholder toppling to the canvas! Burkholder scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Gama finish him?!
Burkholder is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neil Burkholder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burkholder closes the distance but Gama moves to the side
and Gama counters with a right hand to the body.
Burkholder is breathing heavily.
Gama connects with a nice cross there... Burkholder is looking wobbly and Gama recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Burkholder to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Gama jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
