Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kasandini El Mavs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olegko Korolek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Mavs avoids the body shot from Korolek.

and Korolek counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
El Mavs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Korolek controls the pace.
El Mavs controls Korolek momentarily but Korolek frees himself.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Korolek drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but El Mavs manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Korolek has El Mavs in his guard.

El Mavs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Korolek has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, El Mavs has managed to get both his arms back between Korolek's legs - danger averted.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Korolek can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Olegko Korolek wasn't active enough on the ground.

Korolek shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches El Mavs napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Korolek is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Korolek is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Olegko Korolek.
El Mavs tries for a takedown but Korolek sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

El Mavs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Korolek is working away from the top position though.
El Mavs is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Korolek is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
