Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Allen Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuppu Lupaus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Allen Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nuppu Lupaus!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lupaus throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jones counters with an outside leg kick.
Jones throws a poor cross that misses
and Lupaus counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jones thinking.
Lupaus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lupaus misses with a few strikes there.
Nuppu Lupaus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lupaus swings away with a body shot that misses
and Jones counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Lupaus.
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!

Lupaus takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Lupaus misses with an uppercut
and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lupaus.
Lupaus misses with a right hand
enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.
Lupaus swings widly with a right hand
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lupaus takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones throws out a leg kick but Lupaus moves out of range and Jones only half commits.
Lupaus lands a jab.
Jones slips under a jab from Lupaus.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lupaus swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice straight punches there by Lupaus. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lupaus.

Lupaus looking to score a takedown here. Jones is defending well but Lupaus drives through and ends up in Jones's guard.
Lupaus passes into half guard.
Lupaus wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.
Lupaus with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Lupaus missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Lupaus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is staying active underneath Lupaus, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lupaus not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lupaus tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it.
Lupaus lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lupaus wants to work for an arm triangle but Jones is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lupaus.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nuppu Lupaus dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Lupaus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lupaus digs a good hook to Jones's body.
Lupaus steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jones. That one must have hurt.
Lupaus has a takedown stuffed.
Lupaus throws a lazy uppercut
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Lupaus dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Lupaus's head and hops out.
Allen Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nuppu Lupaus.
Lupaus lands a lovely overhand right.
Lupaus throws a right hand that misses
and Jones counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lupaus's knee momentarily.
Jones feints and then cracks Lupaus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lupaus down.

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones.

Jones stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Jones pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jones just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lupaus's brow.
Lupaus wants to break free but Jones has control.

Jones throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Lupaus misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A right handed body shot lands from Lupaus.
Lupaus avoids the elbow strike from Jones, against the cage.

Lupaus blocks an elbow strike from Jones.
Jones pushes off an throws an elbow but Lupaus leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Allen Jones will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Jones misses with an uppercut
and Lupaus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones throws a front kick aimed at Lupaus's knee but Lupaus avoids it well.

and Lupaus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones throws a front kick aimed at Lupaus's knee but Lupaus avoids it well.
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Lupaus.
Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Jones throws a hook but Lupaus avoids it easily.
Allen Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones takes one on the chin but seems OK.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lupaus thows a body shot but no joy.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones swings widly with a right hand
and Lupaus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lupaus throws a right hand that misses
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.
Lupaus ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lupaus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lupaus doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jones counters with a slapping leg kick.
Lupaus lands a lovely overhand right.
A slow jab from Lupaus misses its intended target.
Lupaus misses with a wild body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Lupaus.
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lupaus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lupaus misses with a series of wild punches.
Jones misses with a left hand
and Lupaus connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lupaus takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lupaus checks a low kick from Jones.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nuppu Lupaus.
I think Lupaus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
