Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Craig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Hanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Craig!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Craig doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hanson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Hanson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hanson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Craig doesn't manage to clinch there - Hanson circles away.
Craig tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hanson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Craig gets caught napping as Hanson dives in and scores a takedown. Craig manages to retain guard.
Hanson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Craig, up you get!
Hanson feints and as Craig raises his hands in defense, Hanson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hanson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Craig looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Craig looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Craig!
Craig wants to control but Hanson is keeping him busy.

Hanson is looking for a sweep.
Hanson wants to control but Craig postures up.
Craig is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hanson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Craig wants to stand but Hanson is controlling his arm.
Craig really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hanson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hanson wants to control but Craig postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Craig decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Craig moves in looking to clinch but Hanson pushes him off.
Craig tries for a takedown but Hanson circles away easily
and Hanson counters with a takedown into side control.
Craig is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hanson gets to mount! Craig was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Craig is trying desperately to improve position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Craig is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hanson.
Craig is covering up but some of the strikes from Hanson are getting through and doing damage.

You can see the frustration on Craig's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Hanson has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Craig.
Hanson has the hooks in. Craig is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Craig looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Craig turns into Hanson and is now in his guard.

Hanson is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Craig still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Craig has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Craig is looking to take a break and control but Hanson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Hanson.
Well Hanson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
