The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hundges throws a head kick that misses

and Smith counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Matt Hundges hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hundges swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Smith is now in Hundges's guard. A big mistake from Hundges there, giving up the dominant position!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hundges is desperately trying to improve his position but Smith has a good base and remains in mount.

BOOM! Smith connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Smith goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hundges has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Smith but great work by Hundges.
