Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vic Sommers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Eld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthur Eld has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Vic Sommers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arthur Eld!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eld waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sommers.
Eld checks a leg kick.
Sommers sizes up Eld with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Eld misses with a looping right.
Sommers moves out of range as Eld strikes.
Sommers moves in looking to clinch but Eld pushes him off.
Sommers tries for a takedown but Eld circles away easily
enabling Eld to counter with a crisp jab.

Sommers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Eld did well to prevent Sommers getting side control.
Eld keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Eld wants to control but Sommers is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sommers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Eld defends it well.

Sommers lands with a punch from half guard.
Eld is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sommers scores with a couple of nice shots.

Sommers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sommers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sommers lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Eld is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sommers scores with a couple of nice shots.

Eld on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Sommers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eld can do anything to dispel that myth.

Eld has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sommers is working away from the top position though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sommers lands a nice short elbow.


It looks like Arthur Eld has been cut.
Eld trying to hold on to Sommers's head to control him but Sommers postures up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Eld wants to improve his position but Sommers is controlling well.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Eld really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sommers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sommers is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Sommers trying to control the action but Eld is working from the bottom.

Eld is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's time! Sommers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Eld counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Eld lands with a nice combination. Sommers backs away looking to recover.
Sommers moves out of range as Eld strikes.
Sommers throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Eld makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Eld misses with a leg kick

and Sommers counters by clinching up.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sommers takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Sommers tries to land a knee to the head but Eld blocks with his arms.
Sommers is pushing Eld up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Sommers scores with an uppercut up the middle.


That has opened up Arthur Eld's cut even more.
Sommers with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Sommers looking to stall.
Sommers is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Sommers is trying to drag Eld to the mat but Eld just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The referee is keeping an eye on Sommers - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Vic Sommers.

and Sommers counters with a nice leg kick.
Sommers tries to clinch but Eld moves out of range.
Eld throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Sommers counters by moving into the clinch.
Sommers has Eld pressed against the cage, preventing Eld from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sommers is trying to maintain a safe position but Eld gets an underhook and turns Sommers into the cage.
Eld looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Sommers is pushing Eld up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Sommers connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Sommers catches Eld with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


The cut above Arthur Eld's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Sommers uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Eld.
Eld misses with a body shot.
Sommers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Eld paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sommers misses with a combination
and Eld counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Eld just misses with a punch to the body.
Sommers moves out of range of the leg kick from Eld.
Eld connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Sommers doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Sommers throws a leg kick but Eld sees it coming and moves out of range.
Eld checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Eld gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sommers to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Eld wants to hit a switch here but Sommers passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Eld there!

The referee warns Eld that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Eld tries to hold on but Sommers postures up.

Eld is looking to improve his position but Sommers isn't that keen on the idea.

Arthur Eld's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Arthur Eld's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
