PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Dude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chance Taken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that The Dude has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily The Dude seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dude tries for a takedown but Taken circles away easily

and Taken decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dude's guard.
Taken lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Taken accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dude postures up in Taken's guard and throws a big left but Taken blocks it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chance Taken was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Taken counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dude's guard now.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chance Taken hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Taken stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dude swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Taken not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Taken is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dude is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dude has escaped and now he's on top!
Chance Taken has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dude decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Taken bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Chance Taken showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Taken stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dude swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dude has momentary wrist control but Taken slips an elbow through the middle.

Taken slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well Taken has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
