Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paul Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Ghandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Ghandi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Ghandi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker stuffs the takedown attempt from Ghandi. Ghandi gets slowly back to his feet.
Walker throws a head kick but Ghandi moves out of range.
Ghandi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ghandi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ghandi tries to clinch up.
Ghandi shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense.

Walker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ghandi tries to get to full guard but Walker has control of the leg.

Walker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ghandi is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker trying to control the pace.
Ghandi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Walker decides to stand and escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ghandi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Walker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ghandi won't be happy with that.
Paul Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Ghandi.
Walker wants to control but Ghandi is keeping him busy.

Walker tries for a kimura but Ghandi is defending well.
Walker is breathing heavily.
Ghandi on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Walker scoring with punches from side control.

Walker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ghandi to his feet.

Ghandi tries for a takedown but Walker circles away easily

and Walker counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ghandi's guard now.
Walker wants to control from the top but Ghandi keeps moving.
Walker tries to free his leg and advance position but Ghandi is retaining full guard.
Ghandi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Walker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Walker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Walker forces Ghandi back against the cage and clinches.
Walker wants to break free but Ghandi has control.

Walker pulls guard successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walker is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Ghandi won't allow Walker to get back to his feet.
Walker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Walker tries to get out of the position.

Walker working for a triangle but Ghandi defends it easily.
Walker wants to sweep here but Ghandi controlling him for the moment.

Ghandi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Walker dives on top into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Walker wants to control from the top but Ghandi keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Walker dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Walker tries to clinch but Ghandi moves away

and Ghandi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Walker wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ghandi tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Ghandi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Walker gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ghandi tries to pull guard but Walker won't allow it.
Walker tries a knee to the head but Ghandi blocks it.
Walker wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ghandi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Walker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Paul Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Ghandi.
Ghandi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Walker smiles and moves away.

Walker rushes Ghandi and presses him up against the cage.
Walker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ghandi stalls.
Walker looking to slow down the pace here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker lands a shoulder strike.
Walker is looking to break free of the clinch but Ghandi has double underhooks.

Ghandi drags the fight down to the ground.
Ghandi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walker is one step ahead there.
Walker throwing strikes from guard but Ghandi blocks nicely.

Ghandi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Walker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ghandi is breathing heavily.

Walker stands and steps away. Ghandi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Walker wants to clinch but Ghandi slips to the side

and Ghandi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Walker's guard.
Walker controls Ghandi momentarily but Ghandi frees himself.
Walker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ghandi is one step ahead there.
Ghandi being controlled here momentarily.
Walker keeping moving, preventing Ghandi from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walker seems keen to control Ghandi's posture.

Walker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ghandi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Walker is keeping the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Walker wants to clinch

and Ghandi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Walker's guard.
Walker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Walker working for a guillotine from mount but Ghandi is in no mood to give up.
The referee warns Ghandi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Walker has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Ghandi is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Paul Walker!
