Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Biggsby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samuel Axe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Larry Biggsby!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Axe is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Biggsby's half guard.
Biggsby is refusing to be controlled, as Axe sits in half guard.
Axe wants to free his trapped foot but Biggsby is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Axe tries to stand and escape but Biggsby is controlling the position.

Samuel Axe has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Axe throws a head kick but Biggsby moves out of range.
Biggsby fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Axe manages to avoid it.
Biggsby throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Axe dives in and grabs Biggsby's left leg, looking for a takedown. Biggsby pushes down on Axe's head and hops out.

Axe clinches.

Axe rushes Biggsby and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Biggsby takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Axe cracks a nice hook into Biggsby's ribs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Axe tries to control but Biggsby wriggling away.
Axe is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Biggsby is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Axe wants to stand but Biggsby is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Axe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Samuel Axe.

Biggsby is working for takedown but Axe is calmly controlling the position for now.

Biggsby is working an open guard so Axe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A head kick misses from Axe.
Axe's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Axe duly obliges.
Axe lands a right hook to the body.

Biggsby throws a lazy right hand but Axe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Axe tries to bum rush Biggsby with a series of wild strikes but Biggsby uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Biggsby misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Axe.
Biggsby circles away from the clinch attempt.
Biggsby catches Axe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Axe counters by clinching up.

Axe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Axe misses the shot to the body.

Axe darts in and clinches Biggsby up against the cage.

Biggsby goes for a takedown attempt but Axe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A shot to the liver by Biggsby. Beautiful body shot.
Biggsby throws a lazy uppercut
and Axe counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Axe moves into the clinch.
Biggsby tries for a takedown. No joy.

Axe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Biggsby takes a swing at Axe's ribcage but misses.
Axe fails to land with a series of punches.
Axe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Biggsby misses the shot to the body.

Axe drives through and clinches with Biggsby against the cage.

Axe has hold of one of Biggsby's legs. Biggsby is fighting the takedown attempt but Axe gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Axe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Biggsby has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Axe has managed to get both his arms back between Biggsby's legs - danger averted.
Biggsby is breathing heavily.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Biggsby wants to sweep here but Axe controlling him for the moment.
Axe trying to control the position from guard on top but Biggsby is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Samuel Axe.
Biggsby swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Axe counters by clinching up.
Axe lands a left hand that snaps the head of Biggsby backwards.
Axe prevents the takedown attempt.
Samuel Axe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry Biggsby.
Axe is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Axe is pressed up against the cage. Biggsby has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Axe down to the mat. Axe avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Axe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Axe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Biggsby takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Biggsby chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Axe can pounce on him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Axe, right into the meat.

That's time! Axe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Axe tries to clinch up but Biggsby circles away and keeps his distance.

Axe is looking to wear down Biggsby with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Axe gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Larry Biggsby is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Biggsby tries to keep at a distance but Axe has taken the fight into the clinch.

Axe is looking to clinch.
Biggsby throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Axe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Biggsby is staying active underneath Axe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Axe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Biggsby can do to turn this around?

Biggsby tries to move into range but Axe moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Axe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Biggsby swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Samuel Axe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Axe tries to close the distance and clinch but Biggsby swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Biggsby throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Axe counters with a takedown into side control.
Axe wants to stand but Biggsby has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Axe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Biggsby is proving hard to escape from.

Well Axe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
