Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edward Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danilo Pires!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pires shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Pires is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Pires throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Pires throws a strike but Jones avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Pires stands up and waves to Jones to follow him.
Pires shoots and misses
and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Pires will be more careful next time no doubt.
Pires shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Pires, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Edward Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danilo Pires.

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Jones drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Jones seems to have locked his on tight now - Pires screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Jones, as he picks up the win!
