Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Little Nog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drake comes to the cage accompanied by ACDC black ice - spoilin for a fight. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Little Nog!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nog looks to throw the jab but Drake is out of range.

Drake moves into range and clinches up with Nog.
Drake pushes Nog back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Nog swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Drake stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Nog looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Drake breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A jab from Drake finds it's way through Nog's defenses.
Drake dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Drake sizes up Nog with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Drake closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nog to the mat! Nog manages to get full guard.

Drake decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nog, up you get!
Drake lands a jab.

Drake drives through with a takedown into Nog's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Drake stands up from Nog's guard - Drake perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Drake holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Drake lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

and Drake holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Nog tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Drake just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nog can't find room to land a body shot as Drake controls the action.
Drake lands an uppercut.

Drake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nog gets tackled into the cage by Drake. Drake maintains the clinch.
Drake works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Drake works on Nog's body with a couple of short punches.
Drake controlling the action here for a moment.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Drake creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Drake's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Drake fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nog.
Drake connects with a body shot that sends Nog's belly button to the back.
Little Nog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Drake shoots in and bounces Nog off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Drake decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A combination from Drake does no damage.
Drake takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Nog misses with a right hand

and Drake counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nog wants to get back to full guard.

Drake decides to stand and escape the position.

Donk. Drake catches Nog right on the button with a cross.
Drake lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The fighters circle momentarily. Nog darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Nog misses with a left hand

and Drake counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Drake.
Nog wants to sweep here but Drake controlling him for the moment.

Nog working for submissions but it's allowed Drake to get to half guard.
Nog has a hand on Drake's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Drake takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Drake lands with a kick to the ribs.

Drake shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nog napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Drake decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nog to his feet.
Drake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nog can do to turn this around?
Drake takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Nog keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Drake takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nog misses with a hook

and Drake counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nog is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Drake is aware though and is defending well.
Nog is breathing heavily.

Nog is looking for a triangle here but Drake uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Nog is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Drake decides to stand back up. Drake steps back and let's Nog get back to his feet.

Drake shoots in and gets a takedown into Nog's guard.

Nog throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Drake pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nog takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Nog avoids the body shot from Drake.
Nog throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Drake looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Nog is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Drake pulls his head out easily.
Danny Drake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Drake stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Nog to get to his feet.
Nog has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Drake finds it's way round the side to connect with Nog's head.

Nog uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Drake.

A looping hook to the body misses from Nog. Drake does a little dance to reset his feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Drake.
Nog throws an off balance right hand

and Drake counters by moving into the clinch.

Nog tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Drake throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nog was covering up waiting for the punch and Drake finishes the takedown easily into guard.

and Drake counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Drake.

Nog throws out a loose jab but Drake uses good head movement to avoid it.
Drake uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nog.

Drake drives through and clinches with Nog against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Drake takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Drake gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Nog swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Drake lands a right hand.
Drake lands with a short shot to the head.
Nog jumps guard but Drake stands there with Nog around his waist. Nog gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nog misses with a body punch.
Drake lands with a left to the head.
A short body shot lands from Drake as the two fighters clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Drake got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nog has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Drake has managed to get both his arms back between Nog's legs - danger averted.

Nog paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nog checks the leg kick nicely there.
Danny Drake is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
