Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shoryu Ken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Hoffmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klaus Hoffmann told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ken avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hoffmann throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hoffmann throws a front kick aimed at Ken's knee but Ken avoids it well.
Hoffmann ducks under a wild hook from Ken.
Hoffmann pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ken connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Hoffmann checks the leg kick.
A shot to the body from Hoffmann misses
and Ken counters with a nice uppercut.
Ken looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hoffmann!
Hoffmann is trying to stand.
Ken landing strikes from the mount and Hoffmann is in trouble!
It looks like Klaus Hoffmann has been cut.
Hoffmann is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Ken moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hoffmann has worked his arm free - good work by Hoffmann!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ken lands a nice forearm strike.
That has opened up Klaus Hoffmann's cut even more.

Hoffmann is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ken has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Ken controls the position.
Hoffmann parries the strikes from Ken easily there. Ken is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hoffmann to escape.
Ken wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoffmann keeps working.
Ken cracks Hoffmann with a big elbow.
Hoffmann is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ken connects with a decent elbow.
The cut above Klaus Hoffmann's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hoffmann wants to get back to his feet but Ken drags him back down.
Ken goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hoffmann rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ken's guard! Nice work there by Hoffmann!

Ken working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hoffmann doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hoffmann manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ken has his foot on Hoffmann's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hoffmann works his way back into a safe position though.
Hoffmann really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ken. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ken has a closed guard, preventing Hoffmann from standing up.
Ken is trying to control the position but Hoffmann postures up.
Ken is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hoffmann wants to control from the top but Ken keeps moving.

Ken lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hoffmann!
Ken lands with some strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hoffmann is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Ken is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hoffmann can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ken with a couple of short strikes.
Klaus Hoffmann's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Klaus Hoffmann's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
