PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ezio Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis has chosen Dude looks like a lady! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis throws a head kick that misses.
Ellis tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Castillo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Castillo stuns Ellis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ellis looks to land a right hand but Castillo moved out of range.
Ellis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ellis connects with a right hand. Castillo shakes it off.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ellis. Castillo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ellis lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Castillo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


Castillo is rocked!
Castillo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Castillo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ellis takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Castillo seems to have got his legs back now.
Castillo misses with a series of wild punches.
Ellis is looking to clinch but Castillo is avoiding it.
Ellis throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Castillo counters with a series of strikes. Ellis will be more careful next time no doubt.
Castillo ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Castillo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ellis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Castillo has gone for a leg lock! Ellis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Castillo's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ellis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Castillo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Castillo and Ellis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ellis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Castillo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Castillo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Castillo works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castillo fails to move to back control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Castillo goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ellis is on top in guard.

Castillo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Castillo swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ellis is now in Castillo's guard. A big mistake from Castillo there, giving up the dominant position!

Ellis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Castillo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ellis has Castillo in his guard.

Castillo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ellis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Castillo has managed to get both his arms back between Ellis's legs - danger averted.

Castillo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ellis has picked Castillo up and slammed him! Castillo can't keep hold of the triangle and Ellis manages to pass to side control!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ellis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ezio Castillo dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

No joy there for Castillo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A head kick misses from Ellis.
Castillo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ellis pinned against the cage. Ellis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ellis moves into range and connects with a jab.
Castillo throws a hook to the side of Ellis's head but Ellis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Castillo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ellis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Castillo.

Castillo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Castillo showed some decent athleticism there.

Castillo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ellis is just riding it out for now. Castillo eventually gives up the hold.

Castillo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ellis sees it coming and defends easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ellis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Castillo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ellis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Castillo, into his guard.

Castillo is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ellis has his hands clasped together but Castillo extends an breaks Ellis's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Castillo.
