Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Forever War!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Marx!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marx throws a leg kick
letting War counter with a right hand.

and War counters with a nice body shot.
War throws a lazy head kick
and Marx counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A lazy body kick from Marx
and War counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

A slapping leg kick lands for Marx.
Forever War is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marx connects with a single shot there.
Some wild striking there from War.
Marx misses with a leg kick
and War counters with a stiff right hand.

Marx shoots in and gets a takedown into War's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Mark Marx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Forever War will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

War wants to clinch up but Marx keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

enabling War to counter with a crisp jab.

War swings widly with a right hand
and War takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Marx throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and War counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Marx misses with a leg kick
and War counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Marx throws a leg kick which misses War's front leg but catches the back leg as War tries to avoid it.

and War counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Marx thinking.

War takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

War misses with a hook
and Marx counters with a nice body kick.

and War counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Mark Marx will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and War makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and War counters with a nice low kick that buckles Marx's knee momentarily.

Marx swings and misses with a shot to the body
and War counters with a series of strikes. Marx will be more careful next time no doubt.
War catches Marx with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

War lands a nice hook to Marx's body. Marx takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
War defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marx.

and War cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and War makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Marx misses with a leg kick
and War makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

War gets caught napping as Marx dives in and scores a takedown. War manages to retain guard.
War trying to control the position.
War utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
War pulls Marx in close to prevent any damage.
War working a defensive guard here.
War is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mark Marx.
I think Marx has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
