PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Noshikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ralf Laakkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noshikawa looks to land a left hand but Laakkonen moved out of range nicely.
Noshikawa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Laakkonen manages to avoid it.
A punch combination from Noshikawa misses.
Noshikawa misses with a series of wild punches.
Noshikawa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Noshikawa with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Noshikawa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Laakkonen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Noshikawa throws out a loose jab but Laakkonen uses good head movement to avoid it.

Laakkonen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Laakkonen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Laakkonen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Noshikawa manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Noshikawa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Laakkonen on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Laakkonen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Laakkonen jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Noshikawa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Noshikawa and Laakkonen has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Laakkonen decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Noshikawa is breathing heavily.
Noshikawa misses with a hook. Laakkonen ducked under it nicely.
Noshikawa throws a hook to the side of Laakkonen's head but Laakkonen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Noshikawa throws a right and a left that Laakkonen avoids nicely.
Noshikawa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Laakkonen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
