The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chingson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rutten counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Chingson wants to improve his position but Rutten is controlling well.
Chingson wants to control but Rutten is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chingson actively working from the bottom here.
Rutten trying to pass the guard but Chingson defending well.

Rutten is keen to just control but Chingson is a slippery customer.
Rutten is thwarting Chingson's attempts to control the position.

Rutten is looking to take a break and control but Chingson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rutten is trying to drag Chingson to the mat but Chingson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Chingson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Chingson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Tsabit Chingson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bass Rutten.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rutten is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rutten is breathing heavily.

Chingson passes into half guard.
Rutten trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Rutten holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Chingson tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Rutten keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Chingson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Chingson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rutten but Rutten pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sloppy strikes from Chingson. Those never looked like landing.
Chingson fails with the takedown

and Rutten counters with a takedown into side control.
Chingson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Chingson is trying to control Rutten's posture but Rutten avoids it.
Rutten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chingson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rutten tries for a kimura but Chingson is defending well.

Rutten content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Chingson is positioning himself well to prevent Rutten advancing to mount.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Chingson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rutten to the mat! Rutten manages to get full guard.
Rutten keeping moving, preventing Chingson from controlling successfully.

Rutten tries to get to full guard but Chingson has control of the leg.
Rutten is doing well to control the position and prevent Chingson from advancing to side control.

Rutten is refusing to be controlled, as Chingson sits in half guard.

Chingson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rutten has managed to free his arm - good work.
Chingson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rutten takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chingson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rutten can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rutten can do anything to dispel that myth.

Chingson has his arm under Rutten's chin here. Game over son! Chingson squeezes tightly and Rutten is forced to tap out!
