The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Freeman tenderised Kharitonov's leg. Kharitonov is trying to keep his angry face on.
Freeman misses with a low kick.
Freeman closes the distance but Kharitonov moves to the side
and Kharitonov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Freeman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Freeman throws a series of punches but Kharitonov moves out of range.

Kharitonov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Kharitonov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sergei Kharitonov dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kharitonov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kharitonov works Freeman's body with a nice hook.

and Kharitonov counters with a left hand that sends Freeman to the canvas!
Freeman is still in real trouble! Can Kharitonov finish him?

Kharitonov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kharitonov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Freeman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Freeman has escaped and now he's on top!

Kharitonov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Freeman defends it easily.
Freeman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
