The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garibian has taken the fight to the clinch.
Garibian has Nakamura pressed against the cage.

Garibian breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Nakamura. No joy for Garibian on that attempt.
Nakamura fails to land with a series of punches.
Garibian misses with a head kick.

Garibian shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Nakamura is looking for a sweep. Garibian is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nakamura is refusing to be controlled, as Garibian sits in half guard.

Garibian wants to stand up but Nakamura is controlling the position.
Nakamura is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Garibian takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Armen Garibian has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Nakamura lands a nice hook to Garibian's body. Garibian takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Garibian is breathing heavily.
Nakamura rushes Garibian with punches - Garibian moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Garibian goes down! Nakamura follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
